I too was diagnosed years ago with this. I was put on synthroid by my endo. It made no difference in the way I felt, the weight gain etc so he took me off it and said that there is really nothing that can be done for it, that eventually I will end up with hypothyroidism. I stopped going to him because I just decided to go natural and eventually found Kevins books.

I have not had my antibodies checked since but have changed my diet and have included some supplementation that has helped the way I feel and helped me to loose 50 lbs. You can read my blog on my page about all the medical problems I have had and some of the things that have helped. BLessing to you and your wife. If is nice to see you looking for alternatives for her.

Marko, one of the things my holistic doctor has me on for thyroid support is called medcap3 by Xymogen. It is a proprietary thyroid support.

Do you have a holistic doc?

something else he has me one is stemenhance for everything since I was a mess a year ago. And I am taking glyconutrients on my own because I think they are improtant. Hi

my son has been diagnosed with autoimmune disorder. I went to an integrative allergist/immunologist. Being integrative, a practitioner takes a a holistic approach to medicine; considering natural therapies, supplementation, detoxification, and even laws of attraction and spirituality. I would suggest you find someone similar. His doctor is currently testing him for various allergies and toxins that would cause his body to react this way. My son also has signs of your wife's disease . His doctor has prescribed Iodine supplementation. I checked this out on the web and really suggest that you link to and read read the following info. Hello. My name is Carolyn. I have had Hashimoto Thyroidism since 1970. It's a very difficult disease. I was given a choice of a cure back in 1973. I was going to Temple University Hospital for treatment in their Endocrinology Clinic. The hospital was a teaching hospital and I was offered a cure for free if I would allow my doctor to have his class attend my examination and treatment. The treatment (cure) was an injection of iodine into the thyroid gland. I declined the treatment because I was pregnant at the time and was told by my doctor that the shot would not only bring on the termination of my pregnancy but would make me sterile. (I was only 6 months pregnant at the time.) But more important, If I were you, I'd check into the repercussions of stopping the hormone therapy before I start taking it.
1. It's only a tiny pill that you take once a day.
2. When I began, I had a sore throat for YEARS.
3. I couldn't swallow solid food for about 3 years. I had to eat oatmeal, baby food, etc.
4. I lost 55 lbs. in less that 5 weeks.
5. The way I felt was very weak and tired. I had no energy. I thought I was dying, all because of lack
of food. I was hospitalized for several weeks and I realized that stress played a very big part.

I took the hormone replacement for 19 years still having a lot of pain throughout. My doctor took me off the hormone in May of 1989. I haven't had any thyroid meds since or any throat pain since. (BUT
this is the part that you must decide for yourself.) Before you stop the hormone pills make sure you are examined throughly for Diabetes and Cancer to any female organs. The thyroid plays a big part in controlling the Pancreas (Diabetes), Pituitary Gland (growth, weight gain/loss) and Female organs; which include the Uterus, Ovaries, Breasts, and the Cervix.

I stopped taking the hormone in May of 1989 and within one or two months I had my yearly pap test that came back positive. I had the second stage of cervical cancer. I began to have abnormal periods. By Jan of 1990 I began hemmorhaging and had to have an immediate removal of my uterus and one ovary. Upon examination, they found numerous fibroid cysts. Within another 2 years I was examined by a surgeon for breast surgery for having numerous lumps in my breasts. The surgeon knew a Natural Cure for the fibroids that helped me. If you would like this cure, it's yours. By 1992 I had Hypoglysemia and then Hyperglysemia which is Diabetes.

Bottom line - these things weren't coincidence. Outside of the thyroid problem, I was in perfect health. I did not have any lumps anywhere nor did I have any problems with my utereus or diabetes. Back then they gave me neuclear tests where I had to take radio active iodine. Today I'm alergic to iodine which means I can't have shell fish.

I always thought medicine was supposed to help you. Today I realize that medicine hurts more than it cures and we are nothing more than guinny pigs trying out new ways of making the SYMPTOMS go away - not the probllem.

I hope you are young and strong enough to say no. Find another way, if you can. If you can't, you can always take the hormone. But first try to find another way.

Hi,

Someone once said: Disease is when your body lacks something that it needs OR it contains something it doesn't need".

I suggest you have a thorough hair, saliva and buccal cells test.

The test will reveal what's going on in your body. The results from such
tests can be amazing.

You can then go on a thorough detox and supplementation regime that will build up your
system again.

Ask your natural practitioner where you can have these tests.

I sufferrred from Crohn's Disease for a long time, with no cure being pronounced again and again.

I finally had the above tests. The result: My body was saturated with mercury - from my teeth fillings!

Miraculously today - no Crohn's or anything similar ! Gone! Completely normal!
