Ever seen on commercials, radios, stores, ect... about on how to get big? Hard to get your mind wrapped around it. They say taking this product or using this machine and you can look like these pp that are on the add. What they fail to tell you these pp when taking other products and using other machines for years to get like that, Its just a gimmic to make you think you look like that in such a sort time. They never tale you all the chemicals and the ingredients that they put into their product. My oldman drives truck and he had a load of creatine on the back of his truck. When he got to the plant it was highly secured almost like getting into fort knocks. People inside had to wear masks. My oldman ask them the reason and they said how toxic and bad it is for your body. AND THEY SALE IT TO YOU AND I !!!!!!!! They never tale you hardly about the side effects that comes with the product. Awhile back i had a experience i will never forget. I use to take creatine, pills,shakes.ect... buying into what they were saying to me. Yes i was getting big but think about the chemicals and toxins i was putting into my body by doing it. I bought this product that claim by alot of books and tv add to really work and the hottest thing on the market so i went to my local store and bought it. Lucky for me i never take the full amount of anything to see what it does to my body and i only took half of the does that they told me. that night i woke up with extreme pain in my stomach and next thing i knew i was in the bathroom throwing up. At one time i passed out and threw up on myself. I never experience that much pain before the room was spinning. the light was hurting my eyes and i felt like crap, so i turned off the light in the bathroom and rolled a towl in a ball and laid there by the toilet so i did not have far to go. My body twitched violently. Its a night i will never forget. so when the night was over i threw my stuff away and vowed to never take anything like that again and to find natural ways. So my mission is to find natural supplements and diets to help improve in the weight room. As i find more info i will put it on here. Please share your thoughts or experiences.

Did you use this plan and did you gain muscle? Do you have pics of before and after?

Old time bodybuilder's like Reg Park, Jack Lalanne, Arnold Schwarzenegger and my favorite Franco Columbo did not use protein powders and they were able to get very big and muscular with only whole foods. Franco believed that anything that was dried and processed into a powder was denatured and very inferior as a protein source. Nature never intended for humans to consume large amounts of processed body fluids from other animals. Even calves are weaned from nursing and start eating there natural diet of grass-unless man steps in and force feeds them grain making them sick and unnaturally large for maximum meat yield. Humans were Hunter-Gatherers before the Agricultural Revolution and are bodies were naturally muscular lean and healthy before the "Modern Era of Food".

Franco and Arnold were training partners and there mentor was the legendary Reg Park. Reg taught them to use Fish and Eggs as there primary protein source for building lean mass. Poultry was secondary and fattier meats like beef and lamb were used during the bulk cycle. If your goal is to get very big and muscular then chemical supplements, processed protein powders, synthetic HGH and steroids will get you there but they are also a ticket to hormone imbalance, diminished testosterone and a myriad of long term health problems.

I am a competitive natural bodybuilder and compete in large shows that are polygraph and urine tested because so many bodybuilders want to cheat and use drugs to get bigger. Most of the guys in my weight class that are bigger than me have used excessive "near-steroid" supplements and protein powders to grow there bodies unnaturally large. In the end it comes down to who is the most symmetrical, lean and poses the best not who is the biggest. If your desire is to get really big I would have to say "Who kicked sand in your face?" Growing yourself larger than nature intended is not healthy.

I was a skinny kid who got muscular and there is nothing wrong with having a desire to be strong and muscular. All I am saying is do it the healthy way that nature intended and do not go overboard like I have seen so many people do-close friends even- whose desire was coming from an unhealthy need to prove something or be something. My suggestion would be to focus on developing symmetrical proportions, low body fat, six pack abs and overall muscle definition. This is what competitive natural bodybuilding is really all about. Best Regards to All

I checked out your page, but it was the first time I have ever been on my space, can you believe that???? You are only 16 years old! I cannot believe, first of all, that you even read kevin's books! I am really impressed that you take your health so seriously, wow. My son couldn't care LESS. You seem a lot older. However, don't grow up too soon - enjoy it while it lasts, because life only gets more serious ......

I couldn't view the pics I guess because I didn't lo gin? I am not up on these pages, sorry!

Some things I take are bee pollen, hemp, and raw eggs. Why get a protein with an egg based source when you go strait to the source. Here is a site advocating raw eggs http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/raw-eggs.htm

I also use ephedra (ma huang) from mountain rose when I cut or trim down.

Here is Mountain rose: http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/

Constructive criticism is welcome and thanks for all the great info on this thread

I use to take whey protein myself until i started this discussion. i listen to what pp were saying on here. so i decided to see what would happen if i did stop taking whey. Trust me this was hard for me i use to be a firm believe of whey! i didnt notice anything right away but i notice my cramps went away, my skin cleared up, and i just feel ok, and the weird part is im still seeing results in the gym and im not on whey anymore. do i still drink milk? Of course i love milk and im not ready to give that up at this point in my life. but there are stuff out there they you can take to gain weight. not just whey, before i started lifing i weight 145 i now weigh 155. thats in 2 and half months of lifting. and thats with out whey!!!!

So are you drinking any sort of protein supplement? Egg? I am just afraid that if my son stops drinking his protein drink in the morning he will lose weight. He needs that extra hunger help in the morning before school and I am not up at 6:00 am to make him eggs :)

If you love milk, you should try raw unpasteurized milk. I am starting him on it after the wonderful things I heard about it at our local organic dairy farm. That will make you feel even better.

Kathi, the body requires energy throughout the day. Protein is the least available source of this energy for the body. Carbs are the primary source of fuel for the human body. Fat is second. A good quality source of carbohydrates will keep him fueled better than any unnatural protein-based drink.

I'd recommend fruit. Bananas are calorie-dense and contain a host of essential nutrients. Apples contain more simple sugars, but also fiber and oodles of vitamins/minerals.

If he absolutely MUST have the protein fix, then I'd go with hemp. Or, if you just can't escape the animal-based fixation, I'd go with eggs, preferrably raw. Soft-boiled at the very most. Scrambled is the worst. Keep in mind that if his immunity is compromised, he will be more susceptible to pathogens within the raw eggs. Same thing holds true for raw dairy.

I think he likes the protein mainly because he does not feel hungry an hour later like with carbs. I understand what you are saying though, he is a tough customer. I can barely get him to eat one piece of fruit a day. He is a stubborn 16 year old. I will try again, though.

So if whey is so bad, why does Dr. Mercola have it on his site? I thought he was a knowledgeable doctor who knows about nutrition.

right now i take a whole food supplement vit. this way you get the vit you need and extrat blueberry, prune, carrot, raspberry, clove, ect...... that helps i also eat alot of carbs like noodles chicken, ect... when i wake up i eat a big bowl of cereal. that give me the energy that i need in the gym. im about to try hemp protein i hear thats good for you and one of the best, and it comes from a plant!! like the one guy says look in the wild and some of these apes and how strong they are and all they eat is veg!!! the stuff you see in stores is a gimic and the white egg you see in the stores is mass produce which means they had stuff to it to push out of the plant sooner and those chemicals are not good for the body!!! they do more harm then good!!!!! Go to an all organic store for what your looking for, i know pp will disagree with what i said but for me this is what i have found out to work for me. Everyone is different. in the end you have to use whats best for you and what you find to work best. but its always good to hear what others have to say!!!

Yes, everyone is different :) My son was having break outs (black heads) all around his nose and nothing seemed to help, but this was before the whey. Stupidly, I was buying Ensure, which is pure JUNK and I didn't know it at the time, but he drank one every morning with his cereal and it kept him full til noon. I stopped buying that junk when I went organic a couple of months ago and his skin has cleared up. However, I then bought the whey protein drink and he is drinking that now while working out. I guess I will let him finish up this container and maybe try the hemp or egg protein.

Thanks for the tip! If anybody knows of a good hemp protein, please tell .....

Kathi, I buy raw organic hemp nuts and grind them myself. However, I've also used organic hemp protein powders by Nutiva. They have three flavors that I'm aware of, each of which tastes good (fruity). There are probably some others out there. Perhaps some of the more seasoned BodyBuilding gurus will chime in as to what hemp powders (if any) they recommend.

Eric, good for you taking a whole food supplement. If you're going to supplement at all, that's really the optimal way to do it.

What kind of noodles are you eating? What kind of cereal? What type of milk?
