Hollywood Proves Kevin Trudeau is RIGHT !!!
Well leave it to Hollywood to prove Kevin Trudeau is Right !!!
I'm sure you have all heard the story of how actor Dennis Quaid's twin babies were poisoned in the hospital due to the labeling of a dangerous blood thinning drug. Well needless to say he is filing suit against the Drug Cartel who manufactures the drug.
Well today (5-13-2008) in the Drug Cartels defense, President Bush is recommending to Congress to pass laws to prohibit such legal actions by a consumer in the future. What does this tell you? It scares the Hell out of me!! You can't sue or hold liable the companies that poison you? Now you can see what Kevin is talking about and this only proves he is right.
Dennis Quaid is going to be on the news program Nightline tomorrow night (5-14-2008) because he is having to take his case before Congress. This should prove to be educational to say the least. Don't miss it!!

There is much truth in what Kevin Trudeau says in his books, but being a nurse and working in labor and delivery for six years, I have to say that the error remains in the hands of the person administering the drug, not the drug company. In every hospital I ever worked at, it is their policy that the dosage of any pediatric medication be checked and signed off by two RN's. This was taught in nursing school and I practiced it in the hospital. Could two nurses be careless? Absolutely. Especially at the end of a twelve hour shift, and if the vial was mislabeled. But was the vial really mislabeled? Or was the incorrect dose administered in error? These are questions that I don't know the answer to, but I am sure will be answered in the lawsuit. I know I have come close to administering a wrong dosage of a drug when the pharmacy stocked the Pyxis with the adult dosage vial of a drug that looked just like the pediatric dosage at a glance, (most likely this is what happened)but I caught it because I checked my dosage the way I was supposed to. The 5 rights in Patient Medication Administration was drilled into us:
1. The Right Patient
2. The Right Medication
3. The Right Dosage(here's where they may have messed up)
4. The Right Time
5. The Right Route
I am in NO WAY making excuses for nurses or the pharmacist almost killing two innocent babies, but at the same time I am not blaming the drug company when I don't know who was really liable.
Hundreds of thousands of patients die in hospitals every year because of medication errors. They die sometimes even when the drugs are administered properly. Too bad it took a Hollywood star's children almost dying to bring this to light!

I just want to add something to this discussion, I know Kevin is right ,another example is with x rays and blood results,and other types of testing here in USA you are not allowed to keep any of your x ray images ,what if you want to have a second opinion?or you move to live somewhere else? while you can go to a different country like Mexico and you can keep it for your own records, here in USA you go and have a colonoscopy or endoscopy they don't take video they take only pictures and the doctors never let you see it and you have to agree with wherever they have to tell you.In Mexico you go to clinic have a colonoscopy and endoscopy, and they give you a video to take to any doctor who specialize in this field, and of course you get to keep it, so now if you need a different opinion you can take it anywhere you need it.

As expected by president bush. I never really disliked bush, then he went ahead and passed the Medical Liability act, it was then I developed an undying hatred for the man.

Boy Howdy, i think that Kevin Trudeau has execellent points, and love his book, in addition I love that he puts the control back to where it belongs to the people. As a nurse (no offence) your comment was good, however a little on the bias side of the medical profession, the mistakes that are made are thousands and the hospital management makes sure the victim does not know the truth or will not allow the surviving family members to find the truth. Documentation after documentation, it is proven that the admin in the hospitals are keeping the truth from the people. As for the medical community they are bound by the admin and will keep there mouths shut. I don't know how Dennis Quaid found out what happened but as a people we need to stop allowing the medical community to hide the truth of all of the mistakes that are made and hidden. And as for the drug issues in america, well putting it simply, we are obligated as parents, sister, brothers and children to protect our rights in all things and take the control back of our medical health and our bodies.
