(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million..)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, we have withheld the statistics on Lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

OK this is a cute forward I got from a friend. I don't know if the statistics are true or not but I think they could be pretty close. What is it with people trusting all kinds of medications their doctors prescribe but don't care about what the secret herbs and spices are in KFC, not to mention the transfat and other garbage in there. Am I in a minority to want to try better FOOD first?

A friend of mine has a Type 1 diabetic daughter. Her physician told her not to go looking for any "natural cures"...he said, "they don't work." She didn't listen--she found a natural product that stablized her daughter's blood sugar and eliminated 2 out of the 4 insulun shots a day her little girll had been taking.

Has anyone else butted heads with their doctor over taking medications VS. researching other alternative possibilities?

I believe we should listen to our doctors..to a point. We should also listen to ourselves and what we think MAY be right for ourselves. Even doctors can be wrong. Second, a lot of it IS greed. A large majority of doctors will prescribe unneccessary medications and procedures just to make the extra money. But, most of us know this already. Like if a doctor, dentist, etc knows you absolutely need help and you have no insurance..they will jack up the cost, extra cash in their pocket. If you have an insurance such as medicaid or others, ha.... they will give you unneccessary procedures, etc and rake in the extra money.
My physician didnt know anything about the HCG weight loss program until I told her about it, and that I was joining the program. She didnt try to get me to do something else, but said ok. Also, recently, I had gone in to have my shoulder looked at...again...as I had turned down surgery, awaiting a second opinion. I requested another Xray, as Id had one done 2 years ago. She told me that an MRI would be better. After all of the talk, and telling me I need to go for physical therapy, I left the office without orders for either an MRI or an Xray. OK, am I missing something here? I am still up in the air as to what my shoulder looks like at this time. Also starting physical therapy in the next couple of weeks. She keeps prescribing me pain meds and muscle relaxers. I cant live on those. I am constantly with worry about how to handle this, when I go to the doctor and just get brushed off. That makes it a little hard to trust the diagnosis.

Dontazz, if you can inch by inch climb out of your rut you just got to! I heard this the other day and it got my attention..."You can either live with the pain of self-discipline now, or the pain of regret later." I think I'd rather choose the first one. Can you find a local fruit and veggie market close by and go for it? I'm sure it's cheaper than fast food! Can you do something to exercise every day (start off easy) and build your stamina? The activity should also keep down your sugar-level. You can do it if you want to--you're in total control of your eating and exercising. Sometimes, when we lose control of other areas of our lives, we tend to give up on other things we can control. Pray for strength. Keep fighting!

I can tell you what worked for me in a short period of time (two weeks I was feeling better) We store toxins in all parts of our bodies; you need to get some of these out and it wont cost you much. It is a product by Natures Secret that is a total body cleanse. It is two different tablets and at the most should cost you $30 at any health food store or herbalist. This and lots of clean water...my prayers and good karma is with you Dontazz.
