I bought alot of different greens, ones I have never tried before to make them into a smoothie and start to take them on a daily basis. I became lazy and now all the money I spent on kale, cilanto, parsley, romaine letuce and etc...has gone bad. Smells horrible. Is there a way to store the stuff and use it when I need it. Im thinking maybe freezing it and taking out pieces as i go. i also bought ginger root fresh because i found it in a recipe but i dont know how to use it, do you peel the outer stuff off or do you just break it apart and throw it in blender? My blender is only 2 months old and Im beginning to think it cant handle making smoothies from greens because now its making loud unusual noises. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carrie

I just started making smoothies a little while back. I bought kale and spinach, cleaned them up, mixed them together and put them in a baggie in the freezer. This way you can take a little out for each time. Ginger root stores for a good while in the frig. I've always peeled off the skin. Making smoothies in a regular blender will wear it out after so many usages..... I used to use my blender but bought a Magic Bullet soon after, coz the blender's motor would heat up real hot and I didn't want to break it. Unless you wanna go thru many blenders, you might want to check into one that is made for heavy duty blending such as Ktech or VitaMix .... they are quite pricey but if you plan on making many smoothies in the future, it might be well worth it. My $70 Magic Bullet works well for my needs.

Thank you very much for the ideas. So I can freeze pretty much all my greens and use them when I need to? I saw the magic bullet advertised on tv, it can make smoothies?
