About Me:
I love calla lilies (see photo), golf, dogs, fountain pens and boating. My husband and I have enjoyed boating for years - sailing until we began motoring all the time without raising the sails. Must be an age thing. Now we have a 41' cabin cruiser, our cabin on the lake. All of our hobbies are great but my passion as a wife, friend, nursing director and home-based business owner is to build relationships for Christ. The key to success in anything and everything is healthy relationships. Only the Great Physician can teach us that.

Supplements In Daily Gel Packs (gel suspension technology)

I know that at 50 something I need to add supplements to what I eat. I really have tried. I have spent a lot of $$ on powders and juices and pills, plus really yuk, cod liver oil. I try to take them but I hate it. Thank goodness some of what I now take is not that awful. Most of what I'm taking now is in a gel suspension. It all started with a business opportunity, but that's another story for a different blog :) Anyway, as I understand it, gel is fairly new in the wellness industry. The ingred… Continue

Sparkle

My yellow lab's registered name is Sparkle Eyes, Sparkle for short, although my husband thinks that's too phew, phew so he calls her Sparky. As a puppy, those eyes were clear blue green. Now they are golden, really hypnotic looking.

Thanks For Frustration!

I am so thankful for frustration. I know that sounds strange but for me it is a wake-up call. When I feel frustration and recognize it, I have trained myself to hear in my mind loud sirens and a voice saying "CAUTION! DANGER!" I don't always recognize it soon enough to stop the damaging, negative stress responses but I'm getting better at it. When the frustration ALARM goes off, I try to remember my first response. In any emergency, first response is crit…

My NOW Lesson

I'm writing this to myself after reading Mathew 6. I can tell by reading what many of you write that you know this already.

STOP worrying. Stop stressing about later. Indigestion, arthritis, cancer and probably all of our diseases are aggrevated and exacerbated by stressing out over later. Later may never come. We have now. Worrying is the best way to miss out on life. It robs us of the precious present. I am getting better at remembering to relax and enjoy…

The Truth

The truth is, I am so thankful to be alive. I've experienced disease (cancer survivor) and I've witnessed a lot of death and dying. Even though health is the primary focus of my career in nursing, what I know best is disease. As a healthcare professional, I didn't really learn a lot about health. Don't get me wrong, I love my career in healthcare. Working in an intensive cardiac care unit was truly miraculous. We brought dead people back to life in a normal days work. Ordinary critical care n…
