Hi Brooke! I'm no expert...lol. Just someone experimenting like everyone else. Honestly, I cannot remember if I let the mixture rise first or not. Since I'm an impulsive "want it now" kind of person, I probably didn't. How big of a slice are you cutting? 2 x 2? How thick is it? Mine never got more than 3/4 inch high. It looked like a chocolate cake gone wrong...
I could never eat just the bread by itself. I prefer it with a hot cup of coffee and lots of water. That may help with the full feeling at first and then the bread gets a chance to cement to your innards and helps you feel full longer.
Did you do the "classic" recipe? The one with the wheat, honey, molasses etc..? Or did you try one with the crunchies and fruit in it? I've only made the classic version.
Anywhooo.. give the bread a chance. Drink lots of water with it. Or hot green tea. Good luck!! :)
Hi, I'm looking into the Hunza bread too, I made it last night, it's good, but I don't feel full.... do you think that I should have let it "rise" the 6 hours before cooking it, like the book said? You seem like the expert.
